Allan LeeRoy Boston

Allan LeeRoy Boston, 84, died on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at his home in Anchorage, Alaska, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. During his final days, he was lovingly cared for by his children so he could remain at home.

He was born on Aug. 15, 1928, in Nashua, Mont., to George and Olga (Olson) Boston. He was the second child in the family line up, preceded by sister Dorothy and followed by brother George, sisters Clara, Viola and Marian. Sibling accounts tell of a fun-loving and mischievous brother.

He attended grade school, but before finishing high school, he and his best friend joined the Army in Butte on Oct. 22, 1945. He was able to enlist after convincing a lady in the administration building to change his birth date to Oct. 15, 1927. After his discharge in 1948, he returned to Nashua and obtained his GED.

He married Shirley Spurgeon and three children were born from that union: Debra, Stewart and Susan.

On June 27, 1959, he married Peggy Covington in Great Falls. From this union three children, George, Allana and Martha, were born. Allan and Peggy were married for the next 50+ years until her death in December, 2009.
