    It was another great weekend for the Lady Mavericks as they headed down to the Lewistown Holiday Classic Tournament. They started out with a rematch of the State C Championship game last year, Fort Benton. The Lady Mavericks were able to come out with a solid victory winning 49-23 over the Lady Longhorns.   • Lady Mavs Take Top Spot in District 3C

    The Lady Mavericks came out Champions of the District 3-C tournament with a 67-31 victory over the Scobey Spartans. The girls came out confident and mentally focused. They did a great job of executing the adjustments we had talked about going into the game after playing Scobey twice in the regular season. As a team we shot the ball very well from the perimeter knocking down 8-3 pointers. The girls defense was excellent, making Scobey earn every bucket they got. I couldn't be more proud of this...

    As our local high school basketball seasons have all come to an end, I have done a lot of reflecting, as I always do. I find it very remarkable what our kids along this stretch of Eastern Montana highway have been able to accomplish. They say that our communities are shrinking away and the numbers have forced many schools, families and communities to make tough decisions based on what is best for them individually. I know that this can cause some hard feelings and friction between communities but if we all try to look at these tough decisions...
