Scottie Softball Defeat Dawson County In A Close One At Home

The Scottie softball team went 1-4 last week. Glasgow now holds a 5-9-1 overall record, 1-5 in conference play. The Scotties defeated Dawson County 10-9 at home April 22 before heading to the Huntley Project/Shepherd Invitational April 26 and 27. Glasgow fell 18-3 to Huntley Project and 8-6 to Conrad Friday. Saturday they lost a 16-12 game to Cut Bank and a 16-5 game to Shepherd.

Glasgow was down four runs heading into the seventh where the Scotties dug deep to push five runners over home plate for the 10-9 win. Halle Hunter hit a bases-loaded double to drive in the final two runs of the game.

The Scotties had 15 hits to Havre’s 11, but committed 11 errors while Havre held theirs to four.

Macy Martin went five and two-thirds innings for Glasgow in the pitcher’s circle with 1 error and four strikeouts. Brynlie Boreson had the win with one and one-third innings in relief with two strikeouts.

CharLee McColly had three hits, three runs, two RBIs and a stolen base. Riley Clampitt added three hits, a run and an RBI. Berkley Hillman also had three hits with one run.

Hunter had two hits (both doubles) with a run and three RBIs. Martin put up two hits, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Tessa Miller added a hit, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Hayden Green had one hit with two RBIs. Tatum Nyquist added one hit and Kelbi Wersal had one run for Glasgow.

Huntley Project downed Glasgow in four innings, outhitting the Scotties 10-4 in the game. Glasgow had six errors to HP’s one.

Martin, Green, Hillman and Clampitt each had a hit for Glasgow. Green had two RBIS and Hillman added one.

Huntley Project established a big lead early in the game while Glasgow scored only three times in the third inning, allowing the Red Devils to take the victory in four innings. The Scotties were outhit 10-4 and committed six errors to Huntley’s two in the game.

Martin, Green, Hillman and Clampitt had the hits for the Scotties with Green notching two RBIS and Hillman one.

Martin took the loss in the circle, allowing 16 runs on nine hits over three innings with two errors and two strikeouts. Boreson gave up two runs and one hit in one relief inning.

The Scotties went the distance with Conrad but runs from Conrad in the final three innings game them the win over Glasgow. Conrad outhit Glasgow 11-6 but committed four errors while Glasgow held theirs to one.

Hunter had two hits to lead Glasgow with Hillman, Clampitt, Brynn Donaldson and McColly adding one a piece. Hunter also led in RBIs with three followed by Martin, Miller and Clampitt with one each. Miller had the team’s lone stolen base.

Donaldson went the distance in the circle for the Scotties and took the loss. She allowed eight runs and eleven hits with seven errors and six strikeouts.

Glasgow’s six-run streak in the seventh inning against Cut Bank still left them short at the end of the game, giving the Wolves the 16-12 victory over the Scotties. Cut Bank had 13 to hits to Glasgow’s 11 but held their errors to three while the Scotties racked up nine in the loss.

McColly led in hits with three followed by Miller and Donaldson, both with two. Martin, Hunter, Green and Hillman each had one hit. McColly and Green both had two RBIs with Martin, Clampitt and Donaldson adding one each. McColly also led in stolen bases with three. Hillman committed larceny once in the game.

Martin took the loss in the circle after giving up eight hits and 12 runs with two errors and three strikeouts in three innings. Donaldson, in relief for four, had five strikeouts and one error while allowing four runs and five hits.

Glasgow fell behind early in the game against Shepherd as the Fillies outhit the Scotties 12 to six in the game. The Scotties had four errors while the Fillies held theirs to one in the game.

Martin had two hits to lead Glasgow with Miller, Hunter, Hillman and McColly adding one each. Hunter led in RBIs with two. Green and McColly notched one a piece. McColly had the only stolen base for Glasgow.

Boreson went three innings in the game, allowing 12 runs and nine hits with 10 errors. Donaldson spent one and one-third innings in the circle with three runs, three hits and three errors.

Glasgow hosts Havre Thursday, May 2, at Sullivan Park with JV action at 3:30 p.m. and varsity at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, the Scottie JV and varsity teams will play in Miles City at 1 and 2:30 p.m. Glasgow’s senior night is Tuesday, May 7, when the Scotties host the Sidney Eagles for JV and varsity action beginning at 3:30 p.m.
