Scottie Boys Third, Girls Fifth at Sidney Invitational

The Glasgow boys track team scored 66 points at the Sidney Invitational to finish in third place, behind Williston, 95, and Dawson County, 78.5 points. The Scottie girls took fifth with 46.4 points to place behind Williston, 99; Scobey, 84; Custer County, 61.4, and Plentywood, 49.4 points. The boys set 19 personal bests and nine season records while the girls put up 13 new personal records and eight season records.

BOYS

Khye Gamas led the Scottie boys in the 100 meters, placing fourth out of 85, with a personal record time of 11.85. Kyler Whitman, Toryn Richards and Nick Solorzano all set season records to finish in 15,16 and 18 place, respectively. Whitman ran a 12.26 while Richards finished in 12.27. Solorzano ran a 12.28. Wyatt Sugg ran a 12.92 for 41st and Andrew Linder placed 80th at 14.73.

Sugg set a personal record and placed 14th out of 66 in the 200 meters at 25.84. Richards ran a season-best 26.58 for 28th and Noah Runner set a personal record at 26.63 for 30th place. Dillon Hughes placed 37th with a time of 27.15 while Gage Larsen took 42nd with a personal best 27.74.

Gamas won the 400 meters with a personal record time of 52.03, beating out 46 other runners. Whitman also set a personal best, 55.59, and took ninth place. Kyler Holinde took 11th with a personal record 56.12. Liam Chapman ran a 58.66 for 17th place.

Tavin Boland set a season record in the 800 meters at 2:09.06. He placed third out of 41 runners.

Holinde earned fourth place out of 43 in the 1600 meters with a season best 4:44.10. Timothy Pearson and Rowen Kloker both set personal records in the event. Pearson ran a 5:48.06 for 32nd with Kloker close behind in 34th at 5:50.88.

Kloker and Pearson also set new bests in the 3200 meters, taking 26th and 27th, respectively, out of 28 runners. Kloker ran a 12:26.08 while Pearson finished in 12:31.60.

Gamas earned more points for Glasgow in the 110m hurdles, taking second out of 17, with a season best 17.12 time. Adam Mickelson finished in fifth place with a time of 18.33. Michael King ran a 19.72 for 11th place.

In the 300m hurdles, Mickelson placed sixth out of 20 with a 46.31 time. King ran a 46.85 for eighth and Larsen took 14th at 50.56.

The boys 4x100 team of Gamas, Solorzano, Whitman and Wyatt Babb ran a 46.37 to take second out of 13 teams. Connor Hudyma, Holinde, Boland and Hughes ran the 4x400 relay, taking 10th out of 15 teams with a 3:53.35 time.

Hudyma led Glasgow in the shot put, throwing a personal best 40’10 for fifth out of 75 competitors. Cade Hudyma and Rex Monson also set personal records with the former throwing 38’9 for 12th and the latter taking 19th at 37’1. Sugg’s personal best 31’7.5 earned him 39th place while Jacob Potter finished in 58th with a 26’3.5 throw.

Vaughn Miller, Babb and Co. Hudyma all earned podium spots in the discus. Miller placed second out of 58 at 140’10. Babb set a season record at 139’2 for second while Co. Hudyma threw a personal best 135’3 for fourth place. Myles Yoakam finished in 14th at 111’0 while Potter set a season record at 76’9 for 34th place.

Miller also paced the Scotties in the javelin. He finished sixth out of 55 with a 142’0 throw. Runner threw a personal best 114’0 to take 25th place. Connor Whitmer finished in 55th at 43’1.

Whitman placed seventh out of 11 in the high jump with a 5’6 jump while Boland cleared 5’2 to tie for 11th place.

Mickelson took seventh out of 11 in the pole vault with a height of 11’0 while Solorzano placed ninth after clearing 10’0.

Gamas set a personal best to take fifth out of 53 in the long jump with a 19’11.5 leap. Chapman also set a personal record – 19’1.25 – for 13th place. Whitman jumped 18’0.75 for 20th place. Solorzano finished in 26th at 17’6 and Runner jumped a personal best 17’1 to take 32nd place.

Richards finished ninth in the triple jump out of 32 with a season best 38’3 while Runner set a personal record at 35’9.5 for 16th place.

GIRLS

Kaylly Turner led the girls in the 100 meters, taking 36th place out of 95 runners with a time of 14.84. Ellie Tryan set a personal record at 15.58 and took 62nd place. Paityn Britzman and Chezney Olson finished in 78th and 79th, respectively. Britzman ran a personal best 16.48 while Olson finished in 16.49. Lacey White took 84th at 16.90.

Gina Page finished in sixth out of 64 in the 200 meters at 28.65. Turner took 32nd at 31.42 while Abigail Kulczyk ran a 32.13 for 42nd place. Riley Evenson-Glasoe ran a personal best 32.699 for 45th place and Kheyerah Bilger set a season record at 33.59 for 52nd place.

Emily See set a personal record in the 400 meters at 1:04.37 to take third place out of 47 runners. Kulczyk’s personal best 1:12.14 earned her 19th place.

Kimber Dulaney led Glasgow in the 800 meters, taking 10th out of 35 with a season-best 2:40.28. Evenson-Glasoe ran a personal best 2:48.97 for 18th place and Bilger took 30th at 3:00.84.

Tanae Baker ran a season-best 11:45.32 to take first in the 3200 meters, beating out 16 other runners. See also ran a season-best, 12:40.44, for fourth place. Haleigh Huntsman finished seventh with a personal best 12:56.76. Bilger also set a new personal record, and finished ninth, at 13:38.53.

Ava Runner finished in 14th out of 28 in the 100m hurdles with a 20.31 time.

Olson, Tryan, Turner and A. Runner combined for a 58.35 in the 4x100 relay, and 16th place out of 17 teams. Joely Chappell, Page, See and Baker took third out of eight in the 4x400 with a 4:24.00 time.

Hannah Holinde placed third out of 78 in the shot put with a personal record 34’8 throw. Mayzie Yoakam placed 14th at 29’4 and Britzman took 24th with a personal best 26’9 throw. Myli Swindler finished in 54th with a season best 21’7 followed by Molly Whitmer in 60th with a personal best 21’3 throw.

Britzman led the Scotties in the discus with a personal best 88’0 thrown and ninth place out of 64 throwers. H. Holinde took 12th at 85’3 followed by Swindler in 26th with a season best 71’2 throw. M. Whitmer took 31st at 68’2 and White threw 57’9 for 41st place.

White took 32nd in the javelin out of 58 throwers with a season-best 67’6. Kylczyk threw 54’4 for 41st with A. Runner taking 51st at 40’9.

Eve Stone tied for fourth, out of 25, in the high jump after clearing 4’8. She took second, out of 15, in the pole vault with an 8’6 height.

Chappell led Glasgow in the long jump with a 10th place finish out of 55 and a personal best 16’1 jump. Page also set a personal best at 15’0 and finished in 20th place. A. Runner jumped 12’7.5 for 43rd place.

Mayzie Yoakam jumped a season-best 34’1 in the triple jump to take fourth out of 34 competitors. Chappell jumped 32’6 for eight place followed by A. Runner in 20th with a 29’9 distance.

Mayzie Yoakam, triple jump’ Babb, discus; Connor Hudyma, discus, and Chappell, long jump, all pre-qualified for the Class B State Track Meet this season with their performances in Sidney.

Glasgow’s underclassmen were in Wolf Point for the Scobey Froshmore Meet April 23 but results were unavailable at press time.

The Scotties will attend the Glendive Shriners Invitational Friday, April 26, with events beginning at 10 a.m. A full schedule for the meet an be found on the Scotties’ social media pages.
