NC Girls Continue Undefeated

The North Country Lady Mavericks (15-0) picked up a few decisive victories last week, defeating the Nashua Lady Porcupines 83-7  in Hinsdale on Jan. 23, the Circle Lady Wildcats 55-40 on Jan. 26, in Circle and the Turner Tornadoes 73-30 in Whitewater on Jan. 27.

The Lady Mavericks' win streak has been extended to 43. Their win streak dates back to March 12, 2022. 

The Lady Mavericks led 47-5 by halftime in their win over Nashua and only gave up two points in the second half, despite the team's reserves seeing plenty of time. Every North Country athlete scored. Bailee McColly led the charge with 16 points, Teagan Erickson had 14 points, Shelbi LaBrie had 12 points. Paige Wasson had eight points.

In the Mavs' win over Circle, Wasson had 24 points, four steals, and four assists. LaBrie had 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Erickson had 10 points, four assists, and four steals.

The Mavericks led by as much as 23 points, leading 50-27 at the start of the fourth quarter. The Mavericks scored 25 points off of Circle's 21 turnovers and had 13 steals. North Country had 26 points in the paint.

The Lady Mavs made 57.9 percent of their shots from the field, including 7-of-10 (70 percent) of their three point attempts.

In North Country's win over Turner, Wasson had 20 points, six assists, five steals, and five rebounds. Erickson had an 18 point, 10 rebound double-double, three assists, and three steals. LaBrie had 11 points and two steals.

The Lady Mavs scored 37 points off of Turner's 28 turnovers. The Mavs had 58 points in the paint, 27 rebounds, 21 steals, and 17 assists. The Mavs made 60% of their shots from the field. They were 30-of-43 (69.8 percent) from two-point range and 3-of-12 (25 percent) from three point range.

The Lady Mavericks are scheduled to face the Scobey Lady Spartans in Scobey on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 5:30 p.m.
