Ice Dawgs Split Games Against Miles City

The Ice Dawgs split their home games against the Miles City Generals this past weekend, winning 7-5 Jan. 12 and losing 7-3 Jan. 13.

Bode Barnett started the scoring action Friday night with help from Brody Hansen in a back and forth first period. Miles City tied the game before Peyton Smith gave the Dawgs the lead again. The visitors knotted the score again before the period ended.

Aiden Price, assist Barnett, put Glasgow up early in the second but the Generals took the lead with two goals. Zevin Kummerfeldt tied the game with help from Eli Howland and Tatum Hansen. B. Hansen, assist Barnett, gave the Dawgs a one-goal lead on an assist from Barnett before the intermission.

Miles City tied the game early in the third before Glasgow put two more pucks in net for the win. Barnett's goal put Glasgow ahead by one and B. Hansen added the insurance goal on the power play with an assist from Mason Hunter.

Glasgow put 48 pucks on net while Dawgs goaltender Jacob Potter faced 43 shots for an .884 save percentage.

The Dawgs were sent to the penalty box eight times for 16 minutes while Miles City served four minutes on two infractions. Tristan Powell, interference, first; B. Hansen, tripping, second; Tavin Boland, tripping, second; Charlie Cornwell, interference, second; Lex Fairclough, cross-checking, second; roughing, third; Kummerfeldt, interference, third, and T. Hansen, cross-checking, third, served time in the sin bin.

Miles City took a 2-0 lead in the first Saturday and held the lead for the remainder of the game. The Generals added two more in the second before Dillon Hughes, assists Hunter and B. Hansen, put Glasgow on the board. Glasgow trailed 6-1 at intermission as the visitors put two more pucks in net.

Barnett scored from B. Hansen early in the third before the Generals put another in net. Barnett put one more puck in net with help from T. Hansen before the end of the game.

Glasgow outshot Miles City 40-39 in the loss with Potter turning in an .821 save percentage.

Both teams held their infractions to three with six minutes in the box. Connor Koski, minor, first; team, too many men on the ice, third, and Smith, unsportsmanlike conduct, third, were the calls against the Dawgs.

The Bantams, short a few players, lost their three games against Miles City 15-3, 14-0 and 13-0. Carter Holte, assist Ian Anderson; Holte, assist Tay Morehouse, and Morehouse, assist, Holte, scored for Glasgow in the first game. Goalie Rivers Sugg turned away 30 of 45 shots on the Dawgs net.

Holte stepped in to the crease for Saturday's games and faced 67 shots in the first game and 89 in the second.

The high school Ice Dawgs will be in Great Falls Saturday ann Sunday, Jan. 20 and 21, to play the Americans at 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

The Bantams will be in Billings for a doubleheader Sunday with face offs at 6 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
