Transit Employees Obtain Longevity Pay

The Valley County Commissioners met during regular session on Aug. 30, where they took action on the Transit Boards recommendation for longevity pay. The Transit Board recommended a longevity pay of $10 per pay period for one to two years of service; $15 per pay period for two+ to five years of service; $25 per pay period for five+ to 10 years of service; and $40 per pay period for anyone with over 10 years of service.

During the meeting, Commissioner John Fahlgren amended the Board’s recommendation stating the employee must have worked during the pay period to get the longevity pay, however overall agreed with the recommendation.

With Commissioner Fahlgren making the amended motion, Commissioner Paul Tweten seconded the amended motion. The motion then passed unanimously.

The Valley County Commissioners meet every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Board of County Commissioners located in the Valley County Courthouse.
