Glasgow Track Teams Take Divisional Titles

Girls Team Scores 130.5 Points, Boys 127.33

Both the Scottie boys and girls won the Northern B Divisional Track Meet held Saturday in Great Falls. Glasgow's boys team put up 127.33 points while the girls scored 130.5 points. Both victories made it back-to-back titles for Glasgow. The Scottie girls have now won 17 Divisional Meets while the boys have claimed 27 Divisional titles in school history.

Emily See, Tanae Baker and Mayzie Yoakam brought home individual titles for the girls team. Kyler Holinde, Khye Gamas and Vaughn Miller each notched a first-place showing in the boys competition.

See hit a personal best time of 2:26.09 in her 800 meters win, putting up one of the girls' eight new personal records at the Divisional Meet in Great Falls. Baker was a double winner, taking first in the 1600 and 3200 meters. She won the first in 5:39.71 and the latter in 12:10.56. Yoakam took the triple jump event with a distance of 34'2.5.

Holinde, Gamas and Miller also hit personal records in their wins, marking three of the boys' 18 individual bests at the meet. Holinde took the 800 meter run with a time of 2:03.37 and Gamas won the 300m hurdles by over a second at 42.65. Miller threw 145'10 to win the discus.

GIRLS

Gina Page, Joely Chappell, Piper Johnson, Kimber Dulaney, Haleigh Huntsman, Eve Stone and Kira Beck will join See, Baker and Yoakam in representing the Scotties at the State Meet in Butte this weekend.

Page and Chappell both placed in the 100 meters, taking third and sixth, respectively. Page ran a personal best 13.36 for third while Chappell took sixth with a 13.63 time. Ava Lloyd placed 12th at 14.60.

Page took second in the 200 meters with another personal record, 27.00. Chappell placed seventh, missing the State competition by 0.02 seconds with a time of 28.92. Johnson ran a 29.32 for ninth place.

In the 400 meters, both Page and Johnson set personal bests to advance to the final meet of the year. Page took another second place at 1:02.38 while Johnson finished third at 1:04.15. Lloyd took ninth with a time of 1:08.97 followed by Abigail Kulczyk in 10th at 1:14.91.

Dulaney joins See at State in the 800 meters after running a 2:36.09, a personal record.

See will also run the 1600 in Butte after finishing 0.05 seconds behind Baker in the Divisional event. She ran a 5:39.76. Dulaney ran a personal best 6:06.73 for sixth place and a State slot. Huntsman placed seventh in Great Falls after running a 6:06.61.

Huntsman will join Baker in the 3200 meters at State after taking fifth at the Divisional Meet with a time of 13:05.22. See had pre-qualified for the State event earlier this season. Kheyerah Bilger placed 10th with a 15:18.93 time.

Beck and Yoakam placed 10th and 11th respectively in the 100m hurdles. Beck ran a 19.40 while Yokam turned in a 19.92 time.

Chappell, Johnson, Yoakam and Page combined to take third in the 4x100 relay after running a 52.88. Lloyd, Yoakam, Johnson and See ran a 4:27.81 in the 4x100 for second place. At State, Yoakam, See, Johnson and Page will run the 4x400 relay.

Hannah Holinde was the only Glasgow girl to compete in the throwing events in Great Falls. She placed 10th in shot put with a 28'5.5 throw.

Stone tied for third in high jump followed by Dulaney in a fifth-place tie and Haylly Turner in 10th place. Stone cleared 4'10, Dulaney 4'8 and Turner 4'4 in Great Falls.

Stone also advances to State in pole vault, joined by Beck and Yoakam. Stone cleared 9'6 to place second followed by Beck in third with a 9'0 height. Yoakam took fifth with an 8'6 vault. Kolbi Ross cleared 6'6 for 12th place.

Chappell advanced to State in both the long and triple jumps. She placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 14'11.5 and third in the triple jump with a 32'3.75 distance. Stone joins Yoakam and Chappell at State in the triple jump after setting a personal best 31'2.75 at the Divisional Meet for fifth place. Johnson jumped 30'4.25 for eighth place.

BOYS

Gamas placed fourth in the 400 meters with a personal best 52.56 time.

Reed Larsen and Tavin Boland will join Holinde in the 800 meters at State after both also posted individual records in Great Falls. Larsen took second place at 2:04.01 and Boland ran a 2:07.09 for fourth place.

Larsen, Holinde and Lane Thompson will run the 1600 meters in Butte for the Scottie boys. Larsen ran a 4:44.65 for second and Holinde ran a 4:50.25 for third place in Great Falls. Thompson took fifth with a 5:02.11 time. Holinde and Larsen will also run the 3200 meters at State. Holinde took second at the Divisional Meet with a time of 10:49.54 while Larsen had pre-qualified for State.

In addition to the 300m hurdles, Gamas placed in the 110m event. He took second with a personal best 17.30 this past weekend. Adam Mickelson also set a new individual record, placing sixth with a time of 19.69. Dillon Hughes and Noah Runner also set personal bests in Great Falls, taking eighth and ninth, respectively. Hughes ran a 21.17 and Runner came in at 22.30. Rex Monson placed 10th with a 24.08 time.

Mickelson also earned a spot at State in the 300m hurdles after running a personal record 45.74 for sixth place this past weekend. Andrew Linder placed 10th at 55.75.

Gamas, Roryn Richards, Kyler Whitman and Wyatt Babb placed third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 45.81. Gamas, Boland, Connor Hudyma and Larsen ran a 3:38.89 in the 4x400 for second place. Gamas, Thompson, Holinde and Larsen will run the race in Butte this weekend.

Hudyma moves on to State in the shot put and discus, with personal bests in both. He placed fourth in shot put at 39'6 and fourth in discus at 127'2. Hudyma came in behind Miller's first-place discus throw and Babb's second place 136'8 personal record. Myles Yoakam threw 115'1 for seventh place at the Divisional Meet.

Nick Solorzano threw a personal best 132'3 to take sixth in javelin in Great Falls. He will join Miller, who was pre-qualified, at State this weekend. My. Yoakam threw 112'2.5 for ninth place.

Babb and Whitman both placed in the Divisional high jump. Babb cleared 5'4 for fifth while Whitman tied for sixth at 5'2. Boland cleared a personal best 5'2 for ninth place.

Thompson cleared a personal record 13'0 in the pole vault for second place while Solorzano also qualified for State with a personal best, taking fourth with a 10'6 height. Mickelson vaulted 9'0 for seventh place.

Whitman and Runner took eighth and ninth in the long jump. Whitman put up a distance of 17'5.25 and Runner jumped 16'7.75 in Great Falls.

Richards hit a distance of 36'11.5 in the triple jump for fifth and a slot at State. Monson placed ninth at 32'9.25.

Glasgow will attend the MHSA Class AA & B State Meet this Thursday through Saturday, May 25-27 in Butte. The meet will be at Bulldog Memorial Stadium, 2600 Grand Avenue. Boys pole vault is scheduled to begin Thursday afternoon with all other events scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
