For the week of April 17 through April 23, there were 16 motor vehicle stops, six reports of loose livestock, four reports of barking and/or loose dogs and one inspection request on a vehicle.

Monday, April 17

1539 – A public assist call was recorded for vehicle on the side of the road with its hazards on.

2050 – A voicemail was left for DOT and advised them the deer is on the south side of the highway per a deputy.

Tuesday, April 18

0331 – Reporting party called and reported a fire between Hi Line Collision and Markles. He said it is huge and growing fast. The reporting party called a few minutes later and stated to get somebody out there and dispatch advised fire was dispatched and trying to dispatch others. At 0135, a second caller contacted dispatch to make sure they had received a call about the fire. She stated it was the vacant building next to Markles Furniture and by the railroad. At 0149, Fire command requested to call BNSF and ask them to slow trains down as they came through town because he doesn’t have a crew on that side at this time and doesn’t want the wind off the trains to cause problems. BNSF was notified of this information. At 0345, BNSF called asking if the trains could speed up now however at this time Fire Command has not said anything. BNSF insisted dispatch ask Fire Command if the trains can speed up again because they’d been told the fire was out. The clearance was provided for the trains to speed up again.

0242 – Reporting party called and requested a locksmith is sent right away. Phone numbers were provided.

0934 – Reporting party called in stating she had just received a call from a foreign sounding male who told her their email address is being used inappropriately. She said they just bought this computer about a month ago off of QVC and doesn’t have any idea how it would have gotten on the computer or how someone could have got their email address. The male she talked to stated his name, but the caller didn’t know what company he was with because he was hard to understand. She provided the call back number to dispatch. Dispatch called the number and advised who they worked for and asked what their company did, which he said they provide email security, create websites and things like that. Dispatch advised the male an officer will call him back. The reporting party was placed back on the line and asked if she had given him any personal information or computer information and she stated no. A deputy was notified and will contact the reporting party directly.

1324 – A male called in stating the fire from last night (call from 0331) is smoldering. LRFD fire chief was contacted and she will go take a look at it before dispatching anyone.

1327 – Reporting party called in a deer that appears to have been hit by a vehicle and is still alive. At 1349, deputy advised the deer was dead when he got there and is on the south side of the road. MT DOT was notified regarding the deer.

1406 – Reporting party called in requesting an officer stop by. They are having issues with the neighbor’s dog. She states her husband is out trying to do some yard work and the neighbor’s dog keeps jumping against the fence, which is old. They are afraid the dog will knock the fence over as it is a large dog. They would just like some advice on how to handle the situation as they are not on the best of terms with their neighbor.

1603 – Caller reported a moose ran through her yard on Angus. It ran to the graveyard about eight minutes ago. She said it wasn’t doing anything but she’s concerned because children will be getting out of school soon. Officer was notified and at 1732, it was reported the moose is out of town on the south side of US 2.

1903 – Caller reported she gave a woman money and her food stamp card to pick some stuff up for her. The female hasn’t returned and she’s not answering her phone. At 1944, reporting party called again with the same concern. She was advised officers are checked out of their vehicle but when available, they will call. At 2032, officer advised they’re going to the apartment.

2120 – Caller requested an officer drive through the parking lot after a pickup dropped off two girls. The reporting party stated at the beginning she believed the girls were trying to get into an apartment and then said the girls were messing up people’s cars. Dispatch asked if the girls touched any of the vehicles which the caller said no and they stated they were walking. The reporting party did state a couple of weeks ago her car got messed up, but then again dispatch asked if the girls touched her vehicle tonight, which she responded that they did not. The caller then requested an officer to drive through the parking lot every hour so they stayed away.

Wednesday, April 19

0033 – Reporting party said she received a call from a male regarding a kid or kids out with a BB gun. The man is on his way home and the kid(s) shot his windshield and also shot a person who was talking. The reporting party said she sent a tribal officer out but then wants a deputy to respond as well. At 0107, deputy requested dispatch call the male reporting party to get a description of the suspect. It was later reported the deputy was not able to locate any kids walking around.

1219 – Caller reported a black truck pulling a horse trailer just passed them doing about 80MPH. He almost caused an accident. It is snowing real hard right now. RCSO dispatch and MHP dispatch were notified.

1948 – Deputy advised he believes he came up to a motor vehicle accident. It was determined to be a vehicle versus deer accident. There are no injuries. The debris were removed off the road and the deer is dead.

2234 – Reporting party came into the office to report the vandalism of road signs heading south from Glasgow along MT Highway 42 past the intersection with MT Highway 24 South and up to the Milk River Bridge. She said the signs are spray painted and completely cover the faces so that they are unreadable. At 2259, deputy advised he and another deputy checked the signs. It’s not spray paint, it’s just snow covering the signs.

Thursday, April 20

There were no recorded calls besides motor vehicle stops and loose livestock.

Friday, April 21

1004 – Reporting party called in stating there are a couple of dogs that have gotten a hold of a doe. She is screaming. The doe is probably beyond help now but is still alive. At 1005, an officer advised the dogs had taken off when he got there. The deer is not going to make it and officer will find a safe place to put it down.

1237 – A male called in stating he needs to get an oxygen concentrator out to his dad but the house is surrounded by water. He talked to a member of search and rescue about using the air boat to get to the house, but the member stated to call dispatch for approval. A deputy approved the usage. At 1414, search and rescue called stating the oxygen machine was delivered.

Saturday, April 22

2015 – Caller reported a pickup pulling a flat bed trailer is parked and there is no driver in the vehicle but the flashers are on.

2121 – Caller reported hitting a deer but has very minimal damage as it hit the grill guard. The deer is still alive on the road. The reporting party stated he is not turning it into insurance and provided information on the vehicle. At 2144, per deputy, deer was dispatched and is on the side of the road. MDT local office was contacted.

2346 – Reporting party stated they will be doing pest control at the underpass and will call when they are done. GPD was notified and at 0010, April 23, it was stated they would be done.

Sunday, April 23

0042 – A caller called in inquiring if they should be shooting pigeons. Dispatch explained they are the pest control contractor.

0223 – Caller reported a gunshot wound. It happened at the underpass as the pest control person was dispatching pigeons. He was shot in the foot. An officer was notified.

0430 – Reporting party stated one of his crew members arrived in Glasgow and found someone asleep on the crew room, curled up by the heater. They would like them removed. At 0437, per the officer, the male is leaving the property.
