For the week of Feb. 20 through 25, there were three motor vehicle stops and two reports of a loose dog.

Monday, Feb. 20

2002 – Caller reported leaving a relative’s residence when the pickup slid down and into a MHP patrol car. The reporting party stated he spoke with a female who said the officer is not there at the moment. There are no injuries, and is guessing there may be damage to the patrol car since he has a receiver hitch on the back. The caller explained this is why he had not moved the vehicle priorbecause he believes it would take a chunk of the patrol car with.

2043 – Reporting party called stating it was not an emergency, but her train to Washington got terminated and her mother in Billings got her a plane ticket. She needs to go to the airport at 0645 and needs a ride since Valley County Transit does not run until 0745. Officer advised he will give a call to the reporting party.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

0645 – Reporting party called and said his mother “bounced off guardrails and her car is now in the ditch.” When asked if he had a preference for a wrecker, he stated he’d call one. A deputy was notified and later advised they are moving to the rest area to talk to the driver. The vehicle is well off the road and not a hazard.

0725 – Reporting party called in stating he wants dispatch to look for his Explorer. It was last seen at Pizza Hut the night before at approximately 2000 hours. He states he has been out of town and no one is supposed to be driving this vehicle. He just wants the vehicle stopped and an officer to get the keys. He doesn’t want to sign the vehicle out as stolen.

1600 – Reporting party states a male keeps harassing her by sending her text messages and photos. She states the last one she got was on Saturday the 18th at 1730. It contained a photo of her and the male subject she is now seeing. She said she keeps blocking his number but he has a “text now” account and keeps changing his number.

Wednesday, Feb. 22

0145 – Female reporting party called and said she was driving eastbound on US Highway 2 and a vehicle was following her so closely that she couldn’t see their headlights. She said she slowed down to let them pass her and they wouldn’t pass. The driving behavior was very odd and erratic. She would like to meet and speak with an officer at Holiday. At 0147, the reporting party stated she pulled into the McDonalds parking lot and the vehicle that was following her just pulled into Agland. At 0204, officer advised he spoke with the reporting party and stated the vehicle left Agland while he was talking to the reporting party. He tried to catch up to it but was unable to, believes may have gone either to St. Marie or to Fort Peck, in case there are any other units in the vicinity.

1527 – Reporting party called in earlier, stating he manages a property. He then stated there is a small white Escape that has been parked there for two weeks. He wanted to know, before he has it towed, if dispatch would get in touch with the owner and let them know they need to move it.

2339 – Reporting party complained that a man was in her grandmother’s house downstairs and is tearing out walls and has thrown the television around. She wants him removed immediately. She was notified that deputies were on their way and a tribal officer would be coming as well. She said she wanted the man removed and that he could not come back because she can’t have them there. It was reported no one is injured. At 2345, reporting party called back and said the man left. She didn’t see which direction he went. Two deputies were notified. At 0009, deputy advised one male was arrested and placed in the custody of the tribal officer, who will transport him to jail.

Thursday, Feb. 23

0423 – Reporting party called and said her mother was driving and they slid off the road. She wasn’t sure where she was and she kept shouting to her mother, who had gotten out of the vehicle to climb up the embankment to get help. The caller stated they have animals in the vehicle with them and she is scared. Dispatch stated a deputy would be there soon. The reporting party stated she was sleeping at the time of the slide off and seemed a little confused, couldn’t answer questions regrading the location. At 0437, the driver called and stated her brakes went out and they went over an embankment, down in the ditch and hit a tree. It was not believed anyone is injured. Confirmation was also provided on the location. At 0522, a male called and stated he was at Grace Lutheran Church and heard a horn honking. He looked out the back door and saw a car down in a deep coulee with its flashers on and honking the horn. MHP and deputy was notified of the updated location. At 0808, deputy advised the vehicle is loaded up and ready to leave.

0932 – Reporting party called in stating someone backed into his tree in front of his building. The tree is leaning over and will have to be removed. He also stated he has been taking care of this tree for 10 years and would like an officer to come out. At 0941, an officer advised he took photos of the tree and will do an incident report.

1245 – Reporting party with MDU called stating there is a car that has been parked at the location for a month now. They would like it tagged so it can be removed and the owner notified. At 1325, officer advised this vehicle is on private property and will call the reporting party back.

1517 – A facility advised they have a patient that will need to be plowed out within 24 hours. The County Road Department was contacted who stated they don’t plow in St. Marie and stated the facility needs to call the St. Marie Condo Association.

1905 – Caller reported that a camper and truck are stuck in the underpass. At the same time a call was received who was going to report the same thing but the officers are on scene.

Friday, Feb. 24

0944 – Female caller, who wished to remain anonymous, wanted to report a dog in a vehicle in the parking lot. She said the vehicle is right in front of the doors in the parking lot and hasn’t been running for the last half hour. The dog is laying in the back window of the vehicle. The caller is concerned because the temperatures are too cold for a dog to be in the vehicle without it running.

1214 – Caller reported someone came along the road/intersection and took out some of the garbage cans because they aren’t able to stop. She aid she already called the garbage people because the cans are smashed. A description of the driver and vehicle were provided. It was also stated they left the area after they hit the cans. The City Office, the Public Works Director and officer were notified of the situation as well as the need for some sand at the location.

Saturday, Feb. 25

1354 – Caller reported a white van sitting that was not sitting there 10 minutes ago.

1628 – Caller reported the deer from last week is back and its leg is fractured with a chunk of skin hanging off of it

1602 – Reporting party called to state the crossing arms are down and there are no trains in the area. The technician will be on site in about an hour. A deputy was notified.
