Scottie Boys Split Non-Conference Games

The Scottie boys basketball team split their games this past weekend in non-conference play. Glasgow defeated the Class A Sidney Eagles 55-45 at home Friday before dropping a 55-38 contest to the Class A Dawson County Red Devils the following night, also in Scottie Gymnasium. Glasgow now holds a 1-3, 5-7 overall record on the season.

Glasgow defeated Sidney after falling behind 14-9 at the end of the first quarter. The Scotties established control in the second with a 20-point showing to carry a 29-22 lead into the second half. Glasgow outscored Sidney 13-10 in the third and both teams put up 13 points in the final eight minutes.

Wyatt Babb led Glasgow with 19 points, including two three-pointers and a 1-for-5 showing at the free throw line. Riley Smith added 15 points with two from downtown and 1-of-3 free throws. Keigan Ingram hit 3-of-6 free throws and a trey on his way to 12 points. KJ Ingram scored 4, Jordan Cook 3 with a free throw, and Toryn Richards 2 points.

Sidney had 18 fouls in the game, 13 in the second half, while Glasgow had 13 total, six in the second half. Cade Hudyma and Ke. Ingram had three each while Smith and Babb both had two fouls. Cook, KJ Ingram and Richards drew one whistle a piece.

Ke. Ingram led in rebounds with eight, two offensive. Babb pulled down seven boards, four offensive. Smith, KJ Ingram and Hudyma snagged five each with Ashton Potter adding three and Richards two rebounds.

Babb led the team in assists with five, while turning the ball over four times. Richards had four assists with one turnover. Cook added three assists with four turnovers while KJ Ingram put up two assists with five turnovers. Smith had one of each, Potter had one assist and Ke. Ingram had one assist and two turnovers. Babb had four steals to lead in another category for Glasgow. KJ Ingram had three and Smith one takeaway. Hudyma blocked two Sidney shots.

Glasgow's JV team won their game 45-31.

Nick Solorzano, Connor Hudyma and Ca. Hudyma each scored 7 points in the win. Richards and Vaughn Miller each scored 6 while Noah Runner hit for 5 and Myles Yoakam 3 points. Cook and Andy Hanson added a bucket each.

The Scottie C squad also won their game, defeating the Eagles 39-29.

Wyatt Sugg scored 12 to lead Glasgow followed by Davis Tolzien with 9 points. Rex Monson scored 6, Jorden Wilson 5, Hanson 4 and Klay Cornwell 3 points.

Glasgow had a harder time against Glendive the following night, trailing in all four quarters. The Red Devils outpaced the Scotties 17-12 in the first and led 28-19 at the half. Both teams put up 13 points in the third but Dawson Country outscored Glasgow 14-6 in the fourth.

Babb led the Scotties with 9 points on two treys and a 1-for-4 showing at the charity stripe. Ca. Hudyma hit 2-of-4 bonus shots and added 8 total points while KJ Ingram scored 7 with a three-pointer. Cook hit two shots from downtown and Smith scored 5 points with a free throw. Yoakam added a shot from beyond the arc.

Dawson County had 12 fouls, five in the second half, while Glasgow had 14 fouls, 10 of which came after halftime. Cook fouled out of the game. Babb was called for three and KJ Ingram and Yokam had two fouls each. Smith and Ke. Ingram drew the officials' attention once a piece.

Smith had 10 rebounds, six offensive, to lead the Scotties. Ke. Ingram grabbed eight boards, two offensive. Babb, two offensive, and Ca. Hudyma, four offensive, both had six total rebounds. KJ Ingram snagged three and Yokam added one rebound.

Babb had three assists with four turnovers while KJ Ingram had two assists and four giveaways. Smith had an assist and a turnover and Cook had an assist with two turnovers. Potter, Yoakam and Ca. Hudyma had one giveaway a piece. Potter, Yoakam, Ke. Ingram and Richards each put a steal on the stats sheet. Smith and Richards both had a blocked shot.

The Scottie JV team won their game 57-46. Miller scored 14 points followed by Ca. Hudyma with 11, going 1-for-2 on free throws. Yokam hit two treys on his way to 8 points and Co. Hudyma hit one and added 7 total points. Solorzano and Runner both addd 5 with a three-pointer each. Cook scored 4, Richards 2 and Hanson 1 points.

Glasgow's C squad also turned in a win, 47-30. Sugg and Tolzien led with 10 points each. Trey Graham scored 9 with two threes and a free throw. Monson added 8 and Runner 4 points. Cam Nelson, Cornwell and Wilson scored 2 each with Cornwell's coming at the line.

Glasgow returns to conference action this week with games against Malta and Wolf Point. The Scotties travel to Malta Thursday, Jan. 26. The JV boys play at 3 p.m. in the old gym with all other games taking place in the High School. C girls tip off at 3 p.m. also, followed by the JV girls at 4:30. The boys varsity game begins at 6 p.m. with the 7:30 p.m. girls varsity game concluding the night.

Friday, Jan. 27, the Scotties host the Wolf Point Wolves for Super Hero Night. C boys start the action at noon with the C girls following at 1:30 p.m. JV boys tip off at 3 p.m. with the JV girls playing at 4:30 p.m. The varsity boys hit the hardwood at 6 p.m. and the girls varsity game begins at 7:30 p.m.
