Scottie Girls Fifth, Boys Seventh at State B Track

The Glasgow girls track team brought home a fifth place finish and the Scottie boys placed seventh

at the Class B State Track Meet in Great Falls this past weekend. Glasgow's girls team racked up 35 points while the boys put up 20 points.

Scottie senior Iris McKean led the girls with 20 points with top six performances in the 800 meters, 1600 meters and 3200 meters. Freshman Tanae Baker followed with eight points from the same events. Sophomore Eve Stone made the board with a top six finish in the pole vault, scoring six points for Glasgow and fellow sophomore Emily See finished sixth in the 3200 meters for another Scottie point.

Senior Stephen Bailey scored eight points for the boys with a second-place finish in the pole vault. Sophomore Vaughn Miller also scored eight points with a second-place javelin throw. Senior Ted Tryan scored four points with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault.

GIRLS

Thursday

Field

Stone cleared 10-03.00 in the girls' pole vault for third place. Her personal best vault also moved her into third place of all-time in Glasgow school history. Tyann Graham cleared 8-0.00 and tied for 10th place.

Friday

Track

In the first B girls event on Friday, the 4x100 relay team of Blaire Westby, Ava Lloyd, Graham and Neumiller ran a 53.16, good for eighth place in the preliminaries.

Kambria Ross placed 19th in the girls' 100 meter hurdles preliminaries, running an 18.73.

McKean and Baker then both set personal records in the 800 meter finals. McKean ran a 2:20.07, good for second place and a new Glasgow school record. Baker placed fifth with a personal best 2:24.71.

Westby ran a season best 13.37 in the 100 meters to take 15th place. She placed 10th in the 200 meter preliminaries to make it to the finals with a 27.73 time.

McKean, Baker and See took second, fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 3200 meters finals. McKean ran an 11:50.29, Baker finished in 12:14.57 and See completed the eight laps in 12:25.96.

Lloyd ran a 1:06.39 in the 400 meter finals for 19th place.

Field

Stone jumped 15-00.00 in the girls' long jump, taking 14th place.

Saturday

Track

Westby, Lloyd, Graham and Neumiller improved from eighth to seventh in the 4x100 relay, running a 52.64 and just missing the podium.

McKean, Baker and See all set personal records in the 1600 meter run. McKean ran a 5:21.84 for fourth place. Baker was right behind her in fifth place with a 5:23.95 time. See ran a 5:41.93 and placed ninth. Kheyerah Bilger took 22nd with a time of 6:27.20.

In the 200 meter finals, Westby set a personal best time of 27.73, good for eighth place.

Westby, Baker, Lloyd and McKean teamed up to knock three seconds off their previous best time in the 4x400 relay, running a 4:22.76. The foursome took eighth place.

Field

Stone cleared 4-10.00 in the girls' high jump for eighth place.

BOYS

Friday

Track

Blake Lloyd, Toryn Richards, Tatum Hansen and Wyatt Babb combined forces to take 13th place in the boys' 4x100 relay. The foursome ran a 46.12.

Hansen ran a 16.33 in the 110 meter hurdles preliminaries for sixth place.

Dalton Sand, Kyler Holinde and Reed Larsen all set records in the 800 meters. Sand's season best time of 2:02.74 earned him eighth place. Holinde ran a personal best 2:06.64 for 11th place. Larsen was right behind him with a personal best 2:07.32 time.

Larsen took 14th place in the 3200 meters with a time of 10:38.59 and Holinde placed 22nd with his 11:30.40 time.

Field

Bailey cleared a personal best 14-00.00 – a half-foot better than any of his previous vaults – for second best in the pole vault. The feat tied him for fourth place in Glasgow school history. Tryan set two personal bests at a half-foot and foot, clearing 13-00.00 to earn fourth place.

Miller just made the javelin top 10 then threw a personal best 166-03 for a second-place finish. The sophomore's throw also moved him into ninth place in Glasgow school history.

Babb took 14th in the long jump with an 18-11.50 jump.

Bergen Miller set a personal best and finished in eighth place in the discus with a 130-03 throw.

Saturday

Track

Hansen set a personal record in the 110 meter hurdle finals with a time of 16.18. He took eighth place, just six-one hundredths off the podium.

Larsen set a personal record and finished in 14th place with a time of 4:48.44 in the 1600 meters. Sand set a season record at 4:55.41 and took 19th place. Holinde was right behind him in 20th place with a 4:58.95 time.

Tryan, B. Lloyd, Larsen and Sand knocked three seconds off their previous best 4x400 relay time for 10th place. The four ran the race in 3:38.31.

Glasgow's girls finished behind Sweet Grass County with 99.5 points; Colstrip, 66.5; Bigfork, 49 and Jefferson 39 points. The Scottie boys finished behind Jefferson's 92 points; Loyola-Sacred Heart, 69; Bigfork, 66; Broadwater, 42; Red Lodge, 37 and Columbus with 26.5 points. Manhattan also scored 20 points to tie with Glasgow for seventh place.
