Lustre Christian Track

The Lustre Christian Lions made an impressive showing in their final week of the regular season with appearances at the Norm Girard North/East Top Ten Tuesday in Glasgow, the Gene Nelson Memorial in Wolf Point Friday and Hinsdale's Jean Dreikosen Memorial Saturday in Glasgow.

Braden Ewing, Cayden Klatt and Elijah Lenihan hit the field for the Lions at the Top Ten meet. Both the boys' and girls' teams put up points over the weekend. The Lion girls tied for eighth in Wolf Point with 6 points while the boys took fifth with 30 points. Before the Hinsdale meet was called for weather, the girls stood in fifth with 18 points and the boys had earned 17 points for fourth place.

Ewing earned two medals at the Top Ten meet, with a second place long jump and third place in triple jump. He set a personal best in the long jump at 19-09.50, just shy of a seven-inch improvement over his qualifying jump of 19-02.75. He took third in triple jump with a distance of 40-06.00.

Cayden Klatt set a personal record in the 3200 meters, running the event in 12:09.34. Lenihan competed in the high jump, but was unable to clear a height to place.

Rebekah Jossart and Alexa Reddig earned points for the Lion girls in Wolf Point. Jossart ran a 6:47.98 in the 1600 meters for fourth place while Reddig set a season record of 19.28 in the 100 meter hurdles for fifth place.

Meredith Valentine set a personal record in the girls' 100 meters, and took 18th place, with a time of 18.92. She placed 20th in shot put with a throw of 21-08.00 followed by Sarah Dahl who took 28th with her 18-03.00 throw.

Valenine set a personal record in the discus with a throw of 57-09, good for 19th place. Dahl finished in 29th place in the javelin with a throw of 46-06.

Reddig set a season record of 12-04.25 in long jump for 11th place while Jossart's personal record 12-02.50 jump put her in 13th place. Valentine took 21st with a 7-02.50 jump.

Ewing took fourth in the boys' 200 meters with a personal best 24.42. Byron Ewing also set a personal record, 26.32, and took 11th place. Sean Uy's season record 27.60 put him in 15th while Naveen Pilla ran a 33.96 for 20th place. Pilla took 26th in the 100 meters with a time of 15.93.

Clatt earned points in the boys' 1600 meters with a season record time of 5:29.23 and a sixth place finish. He also set a season record in the 300 meter hurdles at 54.11, good for eighth place. Lenihan set a personal record and finished sixth in the 110 meter hurdles with his 22.44 time.

Uy, Byron Ewing, Lenihan and Braden Ewing teamed up to run the boys' 4x100 relay in 49.83, taking third place.

Byron Ewing took 17th in shot put with a personal record 31-10.00 throw. Mason Hilkemann finished right behind him in 18th place with a 30-11.00 toss while Arun Ramnarace took 24th with his 26-02.50 throw.

Klatt's 86-04 discus throw put him in 16th place and Uy took 20th with an 82-02 throw. Hilkemann finished in 22nd place with a personal best 78-04 throw. Ramnarace threw 75-05 for 23rd place and Byron Ewin's personal record 73-06 earned him 26th place.

Hilkemann set another personal record in javelin – 103-01 – and took 10th place. Uy threw 93-08 for 12th while Ramnarace's 74-04 put him in 24th place. Pilla threw 41-10 and claimed 33rd place.

Braden Ewing won the triple jump at 40-02.25 and took fifth in long jump at 18-04.00. Lenihan tied for seventh at 17-08.50 and Byron Ewing jumped 14-09.25 for 20th place. Lenihan cleared 5-04 to take third in the high jump.

Jossart and Reddig, along with Valentine and Dahl earned points for the Lustre Christian girls at the Jean Dreikosen meet.

Reddig set a season record and took second place in the 300 meter hurdles with her 53.65 time. Jossart's personal record 14:44.65 earned her fourth in the 3200 meters.

Jossart, Valenine, Dahl and Reddig teamed up to take third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 1:06.05.

Dahl finished eighth in javelin with a 41-05 throw and 21st in discus at 43-04. Valentine took 18th at 53-01.

Reddig finished 10th in long jump with a leap of 10-10.50, followed by Jossart in 11th at 10-06.50 and Valentine in 14th with an 8-00.00 jump.

In the boys' competition, Klatt took third in the 800 meters with a personal best 2:19.52. Ramnarace took sixth with his 3:05.66, a personal record.

Braden Ewing jumped 17-08.00 for third in long jump followed by Lenihan in fourth with a 17-02.50 jump. Pilla took 23rd after jumping 11-07.00.

Hilkemann took 11th in javelin with a 94-02 throw. Byron Ewing set a personal record and took 26th with a 70-11 throw while Ramnarace took 29th after throwing 66-09.

Hilkemann threw 30-07.00 in shot put for 14th place followed by Ramnarace in 18th with a 25-06.00 throw.

The Lustre Christian Lions begin their postseason Saturday, May 14, at the District 2B/3C Track Meet in Glasgow with events beginning at 9 a.m.
