James Orval Westby

James Orval Westby, 91, passed away in his home on Friday, June 15, 2018.

Memorial services will be at the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Miles City, Mont., on Monday, July 16, at 1 p.m.

He was born July 19, 1926, to Adolph and Mable (Isakson) Westby. He attended school in Opheim, Mont., and served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1951. He served with the Dirty Dozen Tank Core 12th Tank Company in Anchorage, Alaska.

He farmed northwest of Opheim on the family farm for a number of years then retired and moved to Miles City. His passion was cars.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Bud, Bill and Ronnie; and two sisters, Neta Davenport and Jeanette Stellflug.

He is survived by one sister, Marcella Roots of Roseburg, Ore .; one brother, Kermit (Vicki) Westby, of Midland, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Loni Westby Freese and Gretchen Westby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
