Reds' Season Comes to an End at District Tournament

It was a tough "building" year for the 2016 Reds', and their season came to a disappointing end at the district tournament in Billings after just two games.

The first game for the Reds was held Thursday afternoon, July 21, with Glasgow facing the Sidney Patriots on the diamond.

Sidney claimed the lead in the second inning, scoring four runs on a two-run error. The Patriots never let go of the lead and dominated the entire contest offensively with seven batters combining for 18 hits, 17 RBIs, and 19 runs.

Darrin Wersal was charged with the loss on the mound for the Reds.

After the bad beat from the Sidney Patriots on Thursday, the Reds found themselves in a loser-out game against the Billings Blue Jays on Friday. Although the Reds stepped up and held their own for most of the game, eventually they faded and fell to the Blue Jays 11-7. Taking the loss for the Reds on the hill was Kasey Seyfert.

The very young team struggled all season, but with a full roster returning next year, will be competitive.
