Spay and Neuter Clinic Set For July 15 and 16

The Valley Event Center will once again be a hub of activity July 15 and 16 as it hosts the annual spay and neuter clinic. The mobile spay/neuter clinic is offered by Planned Pethood Plus, Inc. (PPP), which is based in Denver, Colo.

Established in 1990 by Dr. Jeff Young as a low cost spay/neuter clinic, PPP has grown and now offers full, affordable veterinary services.

Dr. Jeff, his staff, and his clinic are the focus of the Animal Planet series “Rocky Mountain Vet”, which features the day-to-day operation of PPP.

The mobile clinic will be offering spay and neuter services as well as distemper and rabies shots. Appointments can be made online at: http://goo.gl/rkS5WG, and walk-ins will be accepted 1 – 3 p.m. both days of the clinic.

There is no fee to have your pet spayed or neutered, however, donations are accepted and encouraged. Pets must be at least eight weeks old and weigh at least two pounds in order to have surgery.

There will be a charge for the rabies and distemper shots offered. For any pet that has been or will be spayed/neutered, the fee per shot is $5. If the pet has not been spayed/neutered, the fee per shot will be $10.

Pets must not have any food 12 hours prior to surgery and no water 8 hours prior to surgery. Children are welcome to volunteer, but must be supervised. They will not be allowed to play, run, or shout as the environment must be kept quiet and calm for recovering patients.

Absolutely no outside food will be allowed in the facility.
