Nashua Girls Snag Second Place at District Meet

Hinsdale Boys Edge Out Frazer for Second

The Nashua lady tracksters earned an impressive second-place trophy for their efforts at the District 3-C Track Meet held May 14. Impressive because they only had six girls competing for points. Leading the way for the Porcupines was Taylor Laumeyer with two first-place and one second-place throws, a third-place finish in the 400m run (PR), and a fourth-place long jump finish. Laumeyer also achieved a PR in both the discus and the javelin.

Senior Faith Keys placed second in the discus, third in the shot put, fifth in the javelin, third in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump.

Zoe Glasoe finished first in the 300m hurdles, fourth in the 100m hurdles, fourth in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump.

Nicole Williams placed second in the 3200m run (PR), third in the 800m run and fourth in the 1600m run, while Ryleigh Delich placed fifth in discus (PR) and seventh in both the javelin and shot put.

Amari Zeluff came in fourth in the 200m run and seventh in the 100m dash – both new personal bests for her.

Claiming a second-place finish in the 4x100m relay were: A. Zeluff, R. Delich, N. Williams and Z. Glasoe.

For the boys, Nolan Viste led the way with a third in the high jump, fifth in both the long jump and triple jump (PR), eighth in the javelin and seventh in the 100m dash (PR).

Taylor Padden placed sixth in the 100m dash, and Daniel Parpart set a personal best in the long jump.

Head coach Ryen Falkenstern entered most of his athletes in five events in an effort to accumulate more points for the team.

Leading the Hinsdale boys to their second-place finish was John McColly, who earned second place in the 100m dash, third in the 200m dash, fourth in both the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles, and second in the long jump.

Frazer's boys came in strong, with 15 placers and two second-place finishes in the relays, but were short of taking second place by three points.

For Lustre, Lane Murray made his mark in several events, finishing sixth in the 800m run, seventh in the 1600m run, sixth in the high jump, and seventh in the long jump.
