Fall Scottie Athletes Honored by District, State

Four Girls, Nine Boys Make All-Conference Teams

For their respective teams, the season came to an abrupt halt. Football lost in the first round of the Class B playoffs, dropping a 47-6 contest in Baker. Volleyball fell twice on its home court and took fourth at the Northern Divisionals, two places shy of qualifying for State.

This is not to say their performances went unnoticed.

Four girls were named to District 2B's All-Conference 1st Team – Seniors Rikki Stormy and Rachel Mickelson, and Juniors Teagan Fossum and Khloe Krumwiede. Fossum, Krumwiede, and Stormy were also named to the All-State team, the only three players from 2B to garner such accolades.

Scottie football earned its share of deferential ink. TE/LB Luke Breigenzer and RB/LB Benji Phillips, both juniors, earned 1st Team All-Conference nods on both offense and defense. Phillips was also one of six 2B players named to the All-State team.

Grant Morken (Jr.), Wyatt Mattfeldt (Jr.), and Lane Nickels (Sr.) were named to 2nd Team offense. Nickels' and Morken's names also graced the 1st Team Defensive roster.

On 2nd Team Defense were Alex Fransen (So.), Lane Provencher (Sr.), and Ethan Etchart (Sr.).

Kicker Cache Younkin (Jr.) was named the finest in 2B; he took 1st Team Special Teams.
