Fossum Makes Shrine Game Roster

The greatly honored and awaited Shrine Game Roster was released last week. Last year was the first year in a handful of years that a Scottie made that list. This year, Chase Fossum will follow in Luke Gunderson's foot steps from last to play on the team.

Fossum was selected to play as a wide receiver on the East Team. Brenner Flaten, Glasgow's Activity Director and Vice Principal, explained that while many states host a Shrine Game, Montana has the longest running in the nation, this year will be the 69th annual game. Two other Scotties were selected as alternates, Keil Krumwiede as a tight-end and Jason Thibault as a quarterback.

The great game of East vs. West will take place on Saturday, July 18. Flaten said that for a small Class C school to be selected is a pretty big honor as less than a dozen are usually chosen. In order to get on the team you have to be nominated by your own coach, and by a coach from other teams they've played.

Flaten added that Fossum will continue to play football at Carroll College in the fall, while both Thibault and Krumwiede will play baseball for Montana State University.
