Library Trustees Make Their Case

Dear Editor:

I am writing to support the upcoming levy of 2 mills for the City-County Library. The library has been on a bare-bones budget for some time and desperately needs a better base from which to work. It is estimated that these two mills would cost less than $10 on a home with a taxable market value of $200,000.

Glasgow has had a proud tradition of having a really effective library, and we offer many services that you might not be aware of until you are needing just that service. With schools about to close for the summer, the library offers a Summer Reading Program for the whole family that will help kids to maintain their grade level reading abilities into the next school year. Numerous families and many children participated in this program last summer and we again look to a busy program this year. But this is not a program we can offer without the support of your tax dollars.

Please support the library and vote for the 2 mill levy on the upcoming ballot. Thank you for your vote!

Library Board Trustee
