Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Eleanor Palmer

Eleanor (Bailey) Robinson Palmer, 91, of Belgrade, Mont., passed away March 4, 2014. With her family continually at her side she quietly moved to the mansion in the sky.

She was born to Frank and Ethel Bailey on Aug. 10, 1922, at their home near Glentana. She was one of three girls and four boys raised on the family homestead close to the Canadian border. The Christian faith and hard work were the foundation for this close-knit family.

She attended school in Glentana and graduated from Opheim High School in 1941. Clayton Robinson and Eleanor were married in 1942 and have four sons.

She married Mike Palmer of Missoula in 1983. Both husbands preceded her in death. Prior to returning to Belgrade in 2009, she lived in Missoula and was an active member of the Christian Life Center. A resident of Open Arms Elder Care in Belgrade since 2010, she loved the environment, friends and the Christian-based life style.

Her passion in life was GOD and her family. Quiet and thoughtful she never passed up an opportunity to share HIS word and stories about the family she loved so much. Known for her continual devotion to praise through worship, prayer and music she was affectionately called "The Prayer Warrior." Her stories of "the good old days" will be told for years to come. She loved all family reunions and visits from all friends and family.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo and Lewis, two sisters, Eva Siefert and Pauline Nelson; and her beloved daughter-in-law, Theresa Robinson of Missoula.

Survivors include four sons: Dean and his wife, Marcia, of Bozeman, Larry and his wife, Carolyn, of Belgrade, Jim of Missoula and Darrell of Bozeman; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Bailey and his wife, Janet, of Opheim, and Quannah Bailey and his wife, Doreen, of Chester; one sister-in-law, Inez Bailey, of Billings; and numerous close and extended family who will also mourn her passing.

In closing Eleanor wrote: "I love you all so much, and I want to see you all in Heaven. God Bless you all. Love your Mom, Grandma and Great-grandma."

A Memorial service will be Friday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Home in Bozeman. A Celebration of Life will be held in June in Opheim, when her ashes will be spread at the Bailey Homestead.
