Melda Deloris Fire Moon

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, Melda Deloris Fire Moon, 57, of Glendive, Mont., formerly of Frazer, Mont., died at the Glendive Medical Center.

She was born to Lyle and Leta Fire Moon on May 5, 1956, She was the oldest daughter of eight siblings. At a young age of 9 months, she was diagnosed with spinal meningitis.

She lived with the family until the age of 25, and at that time she became a resident of Eastern Montana Industries in Glendive until her passing.

She had an extended family at her residence in Glendive and had numerous special caregivers that shared in her life. Pam Junso, Rhonda Beach and Robin Heinrich were her angel guardians, along with the rest of the staff that gave her exceptional family care.

Melda our beloved sister, rest in peace until we meet again.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Leta Firemoon; and two brothers, Lyle Jr. and Vincent Reed.

Survivors include five siblings, Dawson FireMoon and his wife, Paula, Velda Stewart and her husband, Michael, Ingrid Fire Moon and her husband, Bruce, Thomas Fire Moon and his wife, Marva, and Lyla Law and her husband, Bill; two uncles, Robert Four Star and Kenneth Ryan; two aunts, Joan Blount and Julia Ferrar; 19 nieces and nephews, Stacy, Mary, Marly, Tiffany, Mikey, Marcus, Machelle, Keena-Li, Rika-James, Anisa, Reuban, Buddy, Sunny, Sirr, Justiss, Presley, Heather, Thomas and Heath.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, followed by interment at the Poplar City Cemetery.

Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
