    Filings for County Offices in Valley County will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 11. Special District filings closed Feb. 12. Four individuals have filed to run in the only contested Special District race in Valley County. The race has two open positions for Director of the Fort Peck Rural County Water District Board. Josh Kittleson, Samuel Morehouse, Mary Kaercher and Debra Steffani have filed for the open positions.     There are two positions open for the Glasgow School District Board of Trustees this year. Ryan Fast’s and Chrissa Nelson’s terms are set to expire. Ryan Fast has indicated he will not seek reelection. Chrissa Nelson has filed as an incumbent and Derek Beadle has also declared his intent to run.     The Fort Peck Senior Citizens are sponsoring the eighth annual fun walk/run across the face of Fort Peck Dam on March 16, 2024. It is called “SLAM THE DAM 8” (Run with the Wind). This is a non-competitive walk/run – no times will be kept.     The Glasgow Ice Dawgs went 4-0-1 in the Big Sky High School League State Tournament in Billings, topping off the weekend with a huge 5-4 overtime championship win over the Miles City Generals to fetch home their second state title in three years. Glasgow started the tournament in pool play with two wins and a tie. The Dawgs defeated Helena 5-0 Thursday and downed Billings 9-1 Friday morning.     The North Country girls basketball team added yet another trophy to their case this past weekend with a win at the Eastern C Divisional Tournament in Glasgow. The Mavericks won each of their three games by at least a 31-point margin in the penultimate tournament of the season.     The Lustre Christian boys basketball team hoisted their second Eastern C Divisional trophy in as many years Friday night as the Lions claimed a 56-47 victory over the Plentywood Wildcats in the title game. Lustre opened the tournament Feb. 28 in Glasgow with a dominant 64-28 win over the Savage Warriors.
